Summary: After staying at this location for two weeks, 95% of the staff was wonderful! We had to leave a $100 deposit at the desk due to paying with cash. I also brought my ESA dog and when I checked in and offered to show legal documentation from my doctor, the employee said he didn’t need to see it. When we checked out, it seemed like the owner (or GM, not sure) tried just about everything to keep our deposit. One of the reasons was because we didn’t pay a pet deposit that is required. I then went on to explain that I had paperwork and offered it at check in….she persisted on as if I had done something wrong when in fact, it was her coworker that didn’t follow any policy. The dog area seemed to be a bit dirtier than it should have been but overall, the staff was pleasant, room was small and I felt safe. The tv could have been a bit bigger but the location was great. On a scale of 1-10, I’d rate the Microtel in Onalaska a 4.
